Guidelines for Participants of Go Green in the City

1. Arts and crafts are to be made or grown by vendor. It is understood that to make crafts, manufactured items such as shirts, beads, earring back, pin backs, etc. must be used. However, the final craft product must be an assembly of these items by the art or craft vendor. No second party arts or crafts, no imports, no manufactured items, no resale items. If you are unclear if your entry fulfills our requirements, call 717.849.2331 to discuss your application.

2. All arts or crafts vendors are required to submit photos with their applications to verify that crafts being sold at Go Green in the City are handmade.

3. The intent of Go Green in the City is to offer arts or crafts persons, non-profit organizations/ groups, or food vendors an opportunity to sell their handiwork/food, or to raise awareness for their cause or organization.

4. There are five types of participation allowed at Go Green in the City.

- Arts or crafts handcrafted products to sell. We encourage green products!

- Displays by non-profit organizations/groups

- Food vendors to sell their food. We encourage fresh local food!

- Market vendors to sell their arts or crafts, organizations/groups or food.

- Regional businesses with a green conscious, product or service.

5. Go Green in the City is a rain or shine event. Be prepared for rain with adequate covering for your booth. No refunds will be given for inclement weather.

6. Electricity is available on a limited supply. Any power needs must be requested on the application. Only whisper quiet generators are allowed if electricity is not available.

7. No pets or boom boxes please.

8. Go Green in the City officially runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Booth set up begins at 8 a.m. Informal selling of arts/crafts or food items before the start time detracts from the event and creates a lower caliber event overall. Therefore, pre-event start time sales are not permitted. Please bring all your own equipment such as chairs, tables, tablecloths, tents and canopies. Be prepared for inclement weather. Dismantling your booth prior to the end of the event may jeopardize your future participation.

9. Names of all vendors selling food and merchandise will be forwarded to the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue and must have a current Pennsylvania sales tax license (permanent or temporary). You will not be accepted without a valid license number.

10. Insurance or disclaimer must be provided by arts or crafts vendors. If you're registering online, you will be asked to agree to our disclaimer before completing your transaction. Certificate must name Downtown Inc as the insured party.

11. Representatives of Go Green in the City will visit all vendor booths to review stand’s compliance with guidelines. Those not complying with guidelines could be asked to leave the event.

12. Vendors who don’t comply with the guidelines of the event will not be allowed to participate in future Downtown Inc events, even if they are allowed to remain at the present event.

13. No space may be sublet.

14. We encourage you to be as green as you can for this event. This may include using recycled paper for your handout material.

15. We aim for a zero waste event. Please bring your own trash bags and take your trash when you leave. Please do your part to make this a waste-free event!
